Tyre size & pressure according to conditions

When it comes to the John Deere tractor’s tires, proper inflation is essential for optimal performance in various conditions. The front tires, such as the 6.50*20 with 8PR and F2 thread or the 11.2*24 with 8PR and R1 thread, require different pressures depending on the load. Without heavy loads, a pressure of 20 psi is recommended, while with ballast or heavy equipment, the pressure should be set at 12 psi for the 6.5020 tire and 26 psi for the 11.2*24 tire. On the other hand, the rear tire, specifically the 16.9*30 with 12 PR and R1 thread, should be inflated to 14 psi without heavy loads and 19 psi with ballast or heavy equipment. Following these recommended tire sizes and pressures according to the conditions ensures optimal traction, stability, and longevity for the John Deere tractor, allowing farmers to work efficiently and effectively in diverse farming environments.

Water ballasting

Water ballasting

To avoid wheel slippage you can add extra cast weigh to the tractor (each plate of 48 kg) to rear wheels.

However, water ballasting is the another best way to avoid wheel slippage but before doing water ballasting there are some point on which you should pay attention:

  • There should be 75% water in each tyre and 25% air which best ratio to avoid abnormal pull & push in tyres and provides tractor good traction.
  • In case of extreme cold situation (temperature less than 0°C) mix Calcium carbide in water in such a way that there should be 400 gram of CC in 1 liter of water which will decrease freezing point of water. Here is a table to better understand about water ballasting.
