For long life and better performance of tractor it is important to ensure proper free play in clutch, brake & fan belt because if there will be excess play in clutch paddle then it will cause difficulty in gear shifting and if there will be less free play then it will cause clutch slippage loses. Same problem is with brake paddles i.e. there will be extra free play in paddles then there will bad braking experience and if there will be less free play in brake paddles then brake will not be completely disengaged and it will cause high fuel consumption and low power output. Same thing happens with fan belt i.e. if there will be less tension in belt then it will cause early wear & tear in belt and if there will extra tension in belt then it will affect cooling efficiency and battery charging.

Instrument cluster of New Holland 3230 TX Super is equipped with following features:

It’s always important to use proper implements with tractor for best power output in optimum fuel consumption because if there will be bigger implement than recommended then tractor will drop engine RPM and fuel consumption will also increase and if there will be smaller implement than recommended then there will be high fuel consumption and it will be totally wastage of time.

Here is the implement table for the tractor:

Implement selection:

NOTE: Recommended implements and gears may change with soil conditions and in that case you can visit to nearest authorized dealership or service center.

Troubleshooting

There may be some problems after long time use of tractor which are normal with all tractors. Here we have shown some basic problems with their possible reasons and their solutions also:

  1. Engine not starting or starting with difficulty: There may be many reasons of this problem so we start from basic to advance, first reason may be the wrong starting procedure and for that operator should read complete user manual to better understand about tractor. Second reason may be the low fuel level or air trapped in fuel system and for that you have simply bleed fuel system. Third reason may be the blockage in fuel filters which normally due to bad quality of fuel for that simple change fuel filters and if possible then also clean fuel tank. Fourth reason is fuel injector blockage and this problem may also due to bad quality of fuel and for the solution of this problem you have to visit nearest authorized service center. Fifth reason is Fault in fuel pump (there may be wear & tear in pump after a long time of usage).
Same reasons are applied for missing or RPM fluctuation.
  2. Engine is not attaining it’s full power: The first reason for this problem clogged air cleaner element which should be replaced or cleaned with air pressure in gentle way. Normally cleaning of air cleaner element depends on environmental conditions i.e. cleaning of element may be done if there is high amount of dust in air. If engine will run on overload then there will be same problem. Blockage in fuel filters may be the reason of not attaining of maximum power. Mostly wrong valve clearance setting is the main reason of low power output of engine, setting of valve clearance should be done according to manual.
  3. Low oil pressure warning: The main reason of this problem is low level of engine oil which may happen due to any leakage. The second reason for this problem is fault in oil pump. Third reason is fault in oil pressure gauge.
  4. Engine overheating: The first and basic reason for this problem is fault in radiator cap i.e. cap is not maintaining it’s pressure to escape vaporized gases. Second reason is the fins of radiator are clogged, there should be proper cleaning of these fins (apply air pressure from fan belt side, not from front side). Next reason is fault in thermostat valve for that you have valve should be replaced with new one. The next reason is fault in temperature gauge i.e. sometime there may be fault in temperature gauge due to any short circuit in wiring so don’t forget to check that. Low level of engine oil is also responsible for this problem. The last reason for this problem is over filling of coolant in cooling system.
  5. High fuel consumption: First reason is, air filter is clogged and as we have discussed above the solution of this problem. Second reason is wrong valve clearance setting and solution of this problem is also discussed above. Engine overloading may be one reason. Sometimes low temperature for working of engine causes this problem. The next reason is fault in nozzle & injector. Jammed braking system also responsible for high fuel consumption. The last reason for this problem is inaccurate tyre pressure or over ballasting in tyres.

Weights & Water ballasting

In this tractor front 90 kg or 50 kg fabricated bumper and 32 kg cast iron weights are also provided with tractor and further to avoid wheel slippage more 32 kg weights can added. To increase more weight in rear part of tractor water ballasting is a good idea but there is proper rules for water ballasting i.e. there should be 75% water and 25% air in a single tyre and for cold area (i.e. where temperature is less than 0°C) 600 gram calcium chloride should be mixed with per litre of water which will protect tyres by decreasing freezing point of water. Here is the table for better understand accuracy of water ballasting:

Tyre size
Amount of water
12.4*28160 kg160 litres
13.6*28190 kg190 litres
14.9*28240 kg240 litres

Tightening of wheel bolts

Tightening front wheel bolts, rear wheels bolts and weight bolts is also one of the most important thing which should be inspected before operating tractor because if bolts will be loose then it may cause serious accident and if bolts are very tight then it may damage threads of bolts. Here is the table to better understand the method of tightening the bolts:

PartTorque amount
Front disc with with hub bolts150 Nm
Rear disc with hub bolts220 Nm
Rear weights with disc150 Nm
Rear disc with rims230 Nm

Before starting tractor

  • Check air pressure in tyres according to situation.
  • Check free play in clutch & brake paddle (i.e. 35 to 40 mm for clutch paddle & 50 to 55 mm for brake paddles).
  • Check free play in fan belt which should be 10 to 13 mm.
  • Check engine oil level.
  • Check oil level in transmission and hydraulics.
  • Check sources of leakage if any.
  • Check proper working of all electricals.
  • After starting tractor don’t rev engine immediately instead let engine at idling at least for one minute.
  • Clean air pre cleaner bowl.
